Florida Sees Highest Out-of-State Relocations in Nearly Two Decades, New York, California, and New Jersey Lead as Primary States of Origin

In 2022, Florida saw a significant increase in new residents, surpassing the highest levels of migration since 2005. According to the US Census Bureau’s state-to-state migration estimates for 2022, 738,969 individuals relocated to Florida, while 489,905 people moved out, resulting in a net inflow of 249,064 to the Sunshine State.

The majority of these new Florida residents originated from New York, New Jersey, and California. Specifically, 69,901 people moved from New York to Florida, 37,373 from New Jersey, and 22,144 from California.

Norwegian Cruise Line commences sales for a new, larger Prima Class vessel

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened reservations for one of its upcoming, as-yet-unsailed ships. The cruise line, headquartered in Miami, revealed on November 2 that it is now offering bookings for staterooms and suites on its new Norwegian Aqua vessel. This ship is scheduled to make its debut in April 2025, offering seven-day Caribbean itineraries departing from Port Canaveral. Measuring 1,056 feet in length, the ship is expected to be 10% larger than its sister ships in terms of size and capacity, as per Norwegian’s announcement. It will have the capacity to accommodate 3,571 guests at double occupancy, featuring 1,760 staterooms and the first-ever three-bedroom duplex suites, known as The Haven by Norwegian.
